Trigon Rituals III: Dominance Fury Angelia Whiting 114
Of like mind, they called it. Alea had explained that all Tertani men who became
brethren had to go through this transition--two become one&
"They're both crazy, certifiably, no holds barred, absolutely and without a doub t crazy!"
"Lem os'ju arins?"
Sydney pursed her lips as she stared at the Tertani guard. Her head dropped and she put
her back to him, crossing her arms. She murmured in a low voice "I can't believe I saved my
virginity for them!"
"All Tinas are virgins," the guard commented.
Mountains almighty, had she spoken that out loud? Sydney felt herself blush. Pivoting
again, she faced him. "What?"
He was grinning at her. Oh yah, he heard, and not only had he heard, he understood.
She'd spoken in English and he'd spoken the same in return.
"All Tinas are virgins," he repeated. "It's a constant state until they are claimed. They
desire no one but their mates."
At first Sydney merely stared at him until his words sank in. Sadness filled her, and she
thought about her growing fascination with the universe and space exploration after her mates
had gone away, and how she would stop at nothing to become a member of NASA's elite team of
star pilots. Now Sydney could only confess that her enlistment was beyond a simple desire to
explore space. She was obsessed with proving that what was going on in inside of her was
something other than just misfiring neurons in her brain. She was obsessed with finding out that
life in the universe did exist, and if it did, then maybe, just maybe she could find& them.
Nothing, not even her military training had prepared her for anything like this, however. Except
maybe all the running drills, which up until they took her into custody had become pretty handy.
"Alright, maybe I didn't exactly save my virginity for them," Sydney finally addressed
Tertani's comment. "But hell, it was their fault I'd never given it up!"
No man had ever matched up in Sydney's ideal book of love. How could they? She'd
been pining away for not one man but two. Yet, they never seemed like two to her. In her mind
they were one--or at least they should've been, if it wasn't for the god-damn fighting! A small
sob of despair escaped her.
"Oh what did it snapping matter anyway?" Sydney grumbled. "We wouldn't have gotten
very far with having sex even if the two of them hadn't started fighting, because the whole damn
population on the whole fucking planet decided to come rushing in!" Sydney huffed and stepped
closer to the bars.
"Do not touch the trammel beams, Tina Sydney," the guard warned her& for the third
time.
She stared at the blasted bug zappers, and then shook her head. She rubbed her still
stinging hands on her thighs. "You have a name soldier?" she asked, determined to change the
subject, to push Calem and Arjim out of her mind.
"I am Aurus ot Tijan," he answered.
Sydney studied him for a moment, taking in his appearance. The man was large, as large
as one might expect a goon to be if he were ordered to wrestle a mad elephant! He wore what
Sydney assumed to be the standard issue Tertian uniform, black pants tucked into knee-high
black boots and a plum-colored jerkin style vest. Two concentric, silver triangles were
embroidered on his epaulets, likely his rank. There was a baldric strapped across his chest that
held a weapon, the talon arc sheathed behind his back. It wasn't wooden like the others she'd
seen however. His was composed of a smoky gray metal and there was a glowing, green tip on

the end that was visible.
"What's that do?" Sydney asked, curious about its function.
Aurus blinked at her a couple times as if considering whether or not it was appropriate to
show her. Apparently deciding a demonstration would be harmless, he scanned the floor, and
then spied a small stone that was about one inch in diameter. Stepping back about five feet,
Aurus unsheathed the weapon and took aim. There was a whir followed by a sizzle that closely
reminded her of the crackling she heard when she touched the trammels creating her cage.
"Oh snap!" Sydney's eyes widened, her mouth falling agape. A single ball of green light
about half the size of a dime had shot from talon arc, struck the stone and disintegrated it without
leaving a trace that it even existed. Her eyes shifted upward to Aurus' face and she smirked.
"Can I borrow that?"
Aurus chuckled. "If I could, I would Tina Sydney."
That comment took her by surprise.
"You would help me?" Did he understand her plight?
"Duty to my planet, to the Allegiance& "
"Never mind." Sydney slashed her hand through the air. It didn't matter. She wouldn't
expect any good soldier to betray his or her country. With a sigh, she crossed one arm over the
other. "Well then Aurus ot Tijan, are you married?"
So much for changing the subject.
The guard smiled warmly, the golden rings around his sea green eyes seeming to burst to
life at the question. "I am."
"Aw how nice," Sydney commented sardonically. "And how's that working out for ya?"
Jusili erfitte ag eprion itros. A voice began transmitting from a communication device
on Aurus' belt. It was a woman's voice, and if Sydney recalled correctly, it sounded like the
purple-haired bronze woman who had arrested her. Shardantin, Sydney had learned was her
name. She was speaking a language that Sydney couldn't understand, probably Allegiance
Proper. As Alea had explained earlier, it was a universal language used in the CalyTron Galaxy.
"What did she sa& ouch, you mother f-f-f-u& !"
"Please Tina Sydney& "
A pained whine escaped her. She'd done it again, grasped the stupid bars! At the
pinnacle of frustration Sydney pursed her lips, her hands curling into tightened fists. Every
muscle in her body stiffened with disturbed anxiety as she bit back the anger simmering inside of
her. She wanted so badly to release the rage at being purposely left ignorant to what was
happening in the other room, but& she glanced around her empty cell. There was nothing in
there to take her frustrations out on, no furniture to throw, no wall to beat on, and she most
certainly couldn't kick the trammel beams! Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on
me& or three times& ugh!
Tina&
It didn't help that at the moment she was being tormented by the voices of Calem and
Arjim, who somehow were breaking through the barriers she'd put in her head& and why the hell
was Aurus staring at her so intently.
"Yerti insto aefa a krile." Aurus depressed the button on his belt and spoke to the voice.
Two more soldiers appeared, one a male she didn't know who wore the same style uniform as
Shardantin, and the other, it was that betraying, lying bitch, as Alea had called her&
Bligh&
"You here to drive the final nail in my coffin, Benedict Arnold?" Sydney snarled at her
