Jasper raised an eyebrow at Mitchell, and he cleared his throat,
turning his attentions back to Tobey.  Tobey, these are my sons,
Jasper and Lars. Guys, this is my best friend, Tobey Lennox. We
go& way back.

Tobey shook hands with Jasper and Lars, but when his eyes

 He s Jacob Walker, Ben said.  Alexander s mate. He ll be here
in a minute. That s Danny, Lars s mate, and I m Ben. Jasper nudged
him, and Ben sighed.  Benjamin Morris, he said reluctantly.

Tobey s eyes widened.  The Benjamin Morris? Wow. He looked
at Ben, sizing him up.  You re a little young, aren t you? I mean, no
offense. Your majesty.
Ben rolled his eyes.  None taken. Trust me.
 God, this is perfect, though! You can help restore order amongst
the wolves again. Thank God. Tobey snorted.  Some of the vampires
have this crazy idea in their heads that they re going to turn this plane
into a democracy.
Ben raised his eyebrows hopefully.  Really?
Tobey nodded.  Yeah, and not just for the vampires, either. Look,
things have been really chaotic here lately. There s this meeting that s
supposed to take place here in a little while. Everyone s supposed to
go to it. I guess that because all the old monarchs are dead, they think
we should start some kind of new union, but if you re here to claim
the crown and restore the monarchy&  His nervous eyes raked over
Ben s thoughtful expression.  That is what you re going to do, right?
 Um& 
 Right? Tobey asked frantically.  Right?
 I mean, I ll definitely give it some thought, but&  Ben tried to
wipe the smile off his face as he looked at Tobey apologetically.  I
mean, if they re already going to have this meeting, shouldn t we at
least hear what they have to say?
Tobey s eyes darkened, bearing a haunted look Mitchell had never
seen from his friend before, and for the first time, Mitchell had to
wonder what had happened to his friend during the war. He shook his
head in apparent frustration.  Un-fucking-believable&  he groused.
 You don t like the idea of a democracy? Mitchell asked.
Tobey snorted.  Not if it means living peaceably with a bunch of
vampires. After what they did to me in the war&  He cleared his
throat.  To us, he corrected himself.  I really hated them. I wasn t
even going to go to the meeting, but I had this really weird dream that
sort of changed my mind.

Jacob looked at him thoughtfully.  Did it involve a really big, buff
werewolf?
Tobey snorted.  Well. I have a lot of dreams about big, buff
werewolves& 
 Not that kind of dream, Jacob said.  This werewolf had a fight
with Murdock, and when he won, it was like everyone was free. All
the vamps, and the wolves, and the planeswalkers, and they all got
along. I had the same dream back on the Earth plane, about a month
ago, but for you, on Morgana& 
 It was just last night. Tobey looked at Jacob as if he d seen a
ghost.  Who are you, anyway? Do I know you?
Jacob smiled, fixing his eyes behind Tobey, where Mitchell could
see Alex approaching them.  Turn around, Jacob said.
Tobey turned, and his eyes widened when he saw Alex.  That s
him, he said.  That s the one from my dream.
He walked toward Alex, watching him reverently. Alex glanced at
Jacob, and Jacob smiled.  He wants to thank you, Jacob said,  for
the dream that he had about us.
Alex looked first at Jacob, then at Tobey.  I don t know why,
Tobey said,  but I get the feeling you saved me somehow. Saved
everybody. He paused, staring at Alex.  Can I shake your hand?
Alex nodded, taking his hand.  It s nice to meet you, he said,
 but I didn t save everybody. We did it together. He nodded at
Jacob.
Tobey nodded, still looking a little dazed as he let go of Alex s
hand. He turned back to Mitchell and smiled at him.  So& what do
you say? You want to go to this meeting? See what this whole United
Morgana thing is about?
Mitchell looked at Adrianna.  Up to you, he said, closing a hand
over his mate s waist. He wound his other hand in her long hair. She
